Idaho Drop camps, Elk hunting in Idaho

We offer Drop Camps, in Unit 25 / McCall zone on the Payette National Forest, along the South Fork of the Salmon River. Our Packer packs you into a location of your choice Or where our guides have been seeing sign In our licensed area. Depending On Availability & Or Package you choose, We Pack you into one of our existing Camps Or You Bring your own Camp gear to Set up along with Groceries, Personal Gear, & Communication Device. You will be in communication with our packer so if you get game down the packer can retrieve the game and bring it back to Yellow Pine to be put in the cooler. When the Hunt is over our Packer will bring mules to pack your gear back to the trailhead, location depending Clients walk out on pack out day, as it is mostly downhill to the trail heads. It is the client’s responsibility to set up their camp ( If clients bring their own camp gear and to have the camp broke down on pack Out day. It is also the client’s responsibility to dress and quarter their game so it is ready for the packer.

Elk Season for Unit 25
Archery: A Tag / Any Elk / August 30th through September 30th
Riffle: B Tag / Antlered Only / October 15 through November 3rd

Mule Deer Season for unit 25
Archery: August 30th through September 30th
Rifle: October 10th through October 31st

Black Bear – August 30th through October 31st
Wolf – August 30th through Season

Our DIY camps are Done August 30th to November 3rd in Unit 25 / McCall Zone.

Clients may put In for IDFG Draw ( 1st ) Draw – December 5th to 15th Or ( 2nd ) Draw February 5th to 15th Or you can call us to check Availability for our Outfitter Allocated tags.
We have Clients meet at our headquarters in Yellow Pine, Idaho by 8 AM on pack In day so we can get your gear ready and determine how many Pack Stock will be needed. Clients can leave their vehicle at our place or follow us to the trail head with your vehicle.
A Satellite device is important on these hunts, as it can still be warm during these hunts, it’s important to contact our packer as soon as you get game down so we can get the meat to Yellow Pine and put in the cooler, we also do Nightly check Ins with our hunters to make sure everyone and everything is going okay
