Idaho Spring Bear hunting

Our Area has a healthy population of Black Bears, Our Idaho Bear Hunts are done in Unit 25 along the South Fork of the Salmon River. You can see anything from a typical Black Bear in Color to Color Phase Bears with shades of brown, Blonde, & Cinnamon. We offer fully Guided spot and stalk with Bait Hunts, Semi Guided Hunts over Bait, and DIY Baited Spring Bear hunts.
An average Black Bear can weigh 90 to 300 plus lbs depending on Age, Sex, health, and season. Although up to 85% of Black Bears diet consists of Vegetation and insects, Black Bears are Omnivores which means they can also be hard on our Newborn Elk Calves and Mule Deer Fawns!

Wolf Tags can be added to any of our Bear Hunts!

Our Area is in Unit 25 / McCall Zone along the South Fork of the Salmon River and is a 1 Bear Area

May 1st to May 15th Guided Spot & Stalk with Bait Hunts – 1 Hunter 3500.00 / 3 + Hunters 3000.00 per man can accommodate 4 hunters per Hunt

  • These hunts are cabin based out of our residence in Yellow Pine, Idaho. Our Guest Cabin sleeps 4, it is nothing fancy but comfortable with Wi-Fi, cable TV, and a shower. Meals are served at the main house and sack lunches are sent out daily. On these hunts we typically leave before daylight and drive about 40 minutes to trail heads where we ride horses or hike to get up in elevation to glass the snow lines on the southerly slopes. With the still cooler weather the bears arent so nocturnal and are actively searching for the first green ups of spring. We spend the day riding, hiking and glassing, if we have no luck we get set up on our established bait sites in the evenings.
  • May 15th to June 30th Cabin Based Baited Hunts – Guided / Semi Guided 1 Hunter 3500.00 / 2+ Hunters 3000.00 per man we can accommodate 4 Hunters per Hunt
  • These hunts are based out of our residence in Yellow Pine, Idaho. Hunters stay in our Guest cabin it is nothing fancy but is comfortable with Wi-Fi, cable TV, and a shower. Meals are served at the main house and sack lunches are sent out dailey. On these hunts the weather is warming up and the bears are becoming more nocturnal, depending on what we are seeing on our game cameras we typically head to our Bait sites and get set up between 3 and 4 in the evenings or we leave before daylight if were seeing a mature boar on the bait sites at shooting light first thing in the mornings. These hunts are pretty laid back, the bait sites are usually a 20 to 30 minute hike to access our bait sites. There are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy on your down time around town, high water depending there is excellent fly fishing opportunities, Trail Rides, Hot Springs, Horn Hunting, Hiking, Wildlife viewing and more!!!

*DIY Spring Bear Hunts over Bait May 24th to June 30th – 2500 Per Man 2 Person Minimum or 2000.00 Per Man 3 + hunters

On these hunts Availability Depending Clients can have their choice between our Roadside Based Wall Tent Camp – wall tent, wood stove, cots, foams, lanterns, and a kitchen set up OR our Guest Cabin in Yellow Pine with the comforts of a Shower, Wi-Fi, & Cable Tv. Our crew will take you around and show you the bait sites which are typically a 20 to 30 minute hike to get into, the bait sites can be a 40 minute drive between different sites and camp. We do ask that you bring a Card reader to check Game cams, we also Provide Sent and bait for you to put out as you are Checking cameras. During the week our crew will be going around restocking the bait sites in the mornings. On these hunts bring groceries, Tick Spray, personal gear, field dressing gear, card reader to check game cams and a communication device *** if you are in our roadside wall tent camp bring a good sleeping bag, comfortable pillow, & 4 to 6 small propane tanks for lanterns. If you are based out of our guest cabin all bedding and towels are provided, there is a stove top, refrigerator, coffee pot, microwave, and cooking utinsils in the cabin. Bring your own ground blinds and tree stands if you like, we do have tree stands available to use also. On these hunts you use your own Vehicle or ATV’s to get to the bait sites. We like to stay intouch dailey in the event bait sites or cameras need attention or you need assistance with transporting the hide or any meat you wish to keep to the cooler in Yellow Pine or in the event a bear gets wounded we will send a team member to assist in locating the animal. There is also fishing opportunities as long as the water isn’t too high due to spring runoff, Hot Springs to soak in, shed hunting opportunities and wolf hunting opportunities!!!
